Early Life and Family
Jane Austen was born on December 16, 1775, in Steventon, Hampshire, England.
She was the daughter of Reverend George Austen, the rector of the parish, and his wife, Cassandra. Austen was raised in a loving and supportive family, which greatly influenced her later writing.
Literary Career
Austen's first novel, "Sense and Sensibility," was published in 1811.
It was followed by "Pride and Prejudice" in 1813, "Mansfield Park" in 1814, "Emma" in 1815, and "Persuasion" in 1817. Austen's novels are known for their wit, irony, and realism, and they have been widely read and enjoyed for over two centuries.
Later Life and Death
Austen died on July 18, 1817, in Winchester, Hampshire, England, at the age of 41.
The cause of her death is unknown, but it is thought that she may have died from Addison's disease. Austen never married and had no children.
